Natasha Lyonne’s Character in ‘The Fantastic Four: First Steps’ Finally Revealed
Natasha Lyonne’s role in the upcoming Marvel movie Fantastic Four: First Steps has finally been revealed. She will play a brand-new character named Rachel Rozman. This comes after she voiced Byrdie the Duck in the third season of Marvel’s animated series What If…? (2024).
Lyonne, best known for her work on Russian Doll, recently talked about her part in Fantastic Four: First Steps, which is scheduled for release in the U.S. on July 25, 2025. She called the movie extraordinary but didn’t share much about her character.
In an interview, she explained why Marvel is keeping her role a secret. She said, “I guess so! I’m just trying to kind of honor the ways of the Marvel, but I’m very excited about it, and the movie is extraordinary. I think people are going to love it, and I’m so proud to be a part of it.”
Fantastic Four: First Steps is the 37th film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and marks the second reboot of the Fantastic Four series. Marvel Studios produced the movie, and it will be distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures. Directed by Matt Shakman, the script was written by Josh Friedman, Eric Pearson, Jeff Kaplan, and Ian Springer.
Rozman will apparently be introduced as a teacher on Yancy Street and is being described as ally of Ben Grimm.
The movie stars Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, and Joseph Quinn as the Fantastic Four team. Alongside them are Julia Garner, Natasha Lyonne, Paul Walter Hauser, and Ralph Ineson. The story is set in a 1960s-inspired retro-futuristic alternate universe called Earth-828.
Here, the Fantastic Four have to protect their world from the cosmic threat Galactus, played by Ineson, and his herald, the Silver Surfer.
The film had its world premiere on July 21, 2025, at the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion in Los Angeles. It is the first movie of Phase Six in the MCU and will hit theaters in the U.S. on July 25. Marvel has already started work on a sequel.
This new Fantastic Four movie takes a fresh look at the iconic superhero team, and fans are excited to see how it will fit into the bigger Marvel universe. Natasha Lyonne’s addition as Rachel Rozman adds to the curiosity, especially since Marvel has kept her character’s details under wraps.
