Netflix is bringing back the hit teen drama Finding Her Edge for a second season. The show, based on Jennifer Iacopelli’s novel, premiered on January 22 and quickly became a global favorite. According to Netflix, it has stayed in the English TV Top 10 since its debut and is now in the top 10 in 81 countries, with more than 12 million views.

The series follows the Russo sisters, who inherit a struggling figure skating rink. Middle sister Adriana, 17, trains for the World Championships with her new skating partner Brayden while still dealing with feelings for her first partner, Freddie. To secure a sponsorship and save the family rink, Adriana and Brayden pretend to be a couple off the ice, creating drama both on and off the rink.

Showrunner Jeff Norton shared his excitement about the new season. “I set out to make a show about love, featuring characters navigating a particularly difficult path in their lives and in their sport. It’s a true gift to be able to work with such a talented cast to extend these characters’ journeys in Season 2, with the support of Netflix and WildBrain. I’m certain fans will be delighted as we delve deeper into the two love triangles that anchor our show – the romantic one and the familial one. There’s plenty of drama to come both on and off the ice.”

Author Jennifer Iacopelli also celebrated the news. “I am over the moon at the reception Finding Her Edge has received by viewers all over the world. To see my book come to life and watch the world fall in love with my characters has been a dream come true, and now that dream gets to continue with a Season 2. I can’t wait for audiences to see what’s in store for Adriana, Brayden, Freddie, and the rest of Team Russo.”

Madelyn Keys leads the cast alongside Cale Ambrozic, Olly Atkins, Alexandra Beaton, Alice Malakhov, Niko Ceci, Millie Davis, and Harmon Walsh. The show is executive produced by Norton, Josh Scherba, Stephanie Betts, and Angela Boudreault for WildBrain. Directors Shamim Sarif and Jacqueline Pepall are back, and Shelley Scarrow serves as head writer with writers Norton, Pepall, and Sabrina Sherif.

Finding Her Edge has clearly struck a chord with viewers worldwide thanks to its mix of romance, family drama, and figure skating competition. The story of Adriana and the Russo sisters has captured attention for its emotional depth and intense on-ice action, keeping fans eagerly watching episode after episode.

It’s exciting to see Netflix investing in shows like this that combine sports, teen drama, and romance. It’s rare to find a series that appeals to both teens and adults while staying fun and emotional. I’m curious to see how the love triangles and skating rivalries will evolve in Season 2.
