Netflix Drops First Look at ‘Outer Banks’ Season 5

Netflix has announced that the fifth and final season of the popular series Outer Banks will arrive in 2026. Production has already started in Charleston, South Carolina, and fans got their first look at the cast for this new season.

Two actors, Cullen Moss and J. Anthony Crane, have been promoted to main cast members. Moss has played Deputy and later Sheriff Shoupe since the beginning of the show. Crane joined in Season 4 as Chandler Groff, the biological father of JJ, played by Rudy Pankow. Their bigger roles hint at the story’s direction for the final season.

New photos released show the main group of characters, the Pogues, in a different lineup after the shocking death of JJ at the end of Season 4. One picture shows Chase Stokes (John B.), Madelyn Cline (Sarah), Madison Bailey (Kiara), Jonathan Daviss (Pope), Drew Starkey (Rafe), and Carlacia Grant (Cleo). This matches the Season 4 key art but with Starkey taking the place of Pankow.

Starkey’s character, Rafe, had a bigger role toward the end of Season 4. He went from being an enemy to a possible ally, joining the Pogues to search for Blackbeard’s treasure and to seek justice for JJ’s death. Chandler Groff, who killed JJ and stole the Blue Crown from him, is expected to be the main villain in Season 5.

Sheriff Shoupe, played by Moss, may also play a bigger role as the Pogues’ supporter. Over time, Shoupe has changed from a corrupt cop to a more honest sheriff who sympathizes with the main group.

Other returning stars for the final season include Austin North (Topper) and Fiona Palomo (Sofia), along with the rest of the main cast.

Outer Banks has been a big hit since it started, with almost 200 million views across four seasons. It has made the Top 10 English TV List 25 times, showing how popular the show is.

Josh Pate, one of the show’s creators and executive producers, said, “When we get to the end, I think everyone’s going to be satisfied that we bring everything home and all the stories are wrapped up.”
