Netflix Gets Cosmic: New Astrology Hub Picks Shows Based on Your Zodiac Sign
Netflix is going full cosmic with a brand-new astrology hub designed to help viewers pick shows and movies based on their zodiac sign.
The “Your Zodiac Watchlist” feature will appear on subscriber homepages starting Saturday, just in time for Virgo season, a Netflix spokesperson told reporters.
The hub will suggest content tailored to each astrological sign, and the collections will update throughout the year to match the zodiac calendar.
“At Netflix, our team of curators on the member experience team create these themed collections to help members discover something fresh, fun and timely,” the streamer said in a statement, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The recommendations lean into classic zodiac traits. Scorpios, described as “passionate, charismatic, seductive and mysterious,” will see mysteries like Wednesday and The Night Agent.
Geminis, labeled “social, playful and funny,” will be suggested stand-up specials or shows with chatty characters. Leos, called “confident, generous and loyal,” will get content featuring royalty and leaders, such as The Crown and Bridgerton.
Some signs get more playful digs: Aquarius, thought to be “oddballs, quirky, outsiders,” will be pitched sci-fi and space content like Rebel Moon.
Subscribers don’t need to give Netflix their birthday to use the hub, and everyone can explore suggestions for all the signs. Astrology has been seeing a surge in popularity lately, especially with Gen Z, who have turned to horoscopes on TikTok and other apps, according to industry observers.
Netflix has been experimenting with topical and clever hubs in recent months. Past examples include “Hope They Don’t End Up on the Kiss Cam,” inspired by a Coldplay concert moment, and “Can I Pull You for a Chat?” following Love Island’s summer season, even though that show streams on Peacock.
The astrology hub is now live, and fans can check out Netflix’s zodiac picks for themselves.
