If you’re searching for a good mystery to binge, Netflix might have just what you need. The streaming service has added all four seasons of the crime series The Sinner to its library. With a solid 92% score on Rotten Tomatoes, this show is getting a lot of attention from fans of crime and mystery stories.

The Sinner originally aired on USA Network and was created by Derek Simonds. The first season was actually meant to be a limited series, based on a 1999 novel by Petra Hammesfahr. But after the first episodes became popular and earned great reviews, the network decided to turn it into a full anthology series, continuing for four seasons from 2017 to 2021.

Each season of The Sinner tells a new crime story, with a fresh mystery to solve. The only constant character is Detective Harry Ambrose, played by Bill Pullman. Ambrose often gets close to his suspects as he works to understand why they committed their crimes. According to USA Network, Pullman is the heart of the series, carrying each season with his quiet and thoughtful approach to every case.

The first season focuses on a woman named Cora Tannetti, who suddenly stabs a man to death. Ambrose tries to find out why she did it. Season two follows Ambrose back to his hometown when a young boy admits to poisoning two people. In season three, a deadly car accident leads Ambrose into a much darker investigation. The final season sees him retired and visiting Maine, where he’s pulled into solving a local tragedy involving a wealthy family’s daughter.

While most of the cast changes each season, Pullman stays in his lead role throughout the entire series. Jessica Hecht also joins the main cast in the later seasons as Sonya Barzel, an artist who becomes part of Ambrose’s life.

The Sinner was well-received during its run. The first season earned nominations for a Golden Globe Award for Best Miniseries and Best Actress for Jessica Biel, who played Cora in season one. Biel also received a Primetime Emmy nomination for her role.

With all 32 episodes now available on Netflix, viewers can dive into four seasons of different cases and new mysteries. Whether you’re watching for the first time or revisiting the series, it promises plenty of twists and surprises.
