Netflix Releases First Trailer for Rom-Com “People We Meet on Vacation”
Netflix is gearing up to release a new romantic comedy, People We Meet on Vacation, based on Emily Henry’s 2021 novel.
The film is directed by Brett Haley with a screenplay by Yulin Kuang. It stars Emily Bader as Poppy Wright and Tom Blyth as Alex Nilsen, alongside a supporting cast including Lukas Gage, Jameela Jamil, Alan Ruck, and Molly Shannon.
The story follows two best friends, Poppy and Alex, as they navigate their complicated relationship through a series of vacations.
While filming details are limited, the adaptation is expected to capture the charm and humor of the novel, highlighting the dynamics between the lead characters.

Production began in 2024 under a first-look deal between Netflix and Sony Pictures. The film is produced by Marty Bowen, Wyck Godfrey, and Isaac Klausner for Temple Hill. Emily Bader and Tom Blyth joined the cast in mid-2024, with additional actors added later that year. Principal photography started in July 2024.
People We Meet on Vacation is scheduled for a Netflix release on January 9, 2026. Fans can expect a heartfelt and comedic take on friendship, love, and the trials of reconnecting with someone who knows you better than anyone else.
