Netflix Revives Fan-Favorite Nickelodeon Show with Exciting Spinoff
Netflix is officially bringing back the world of Hollywood Arts with a new spinoff of the hit Nickelodeon show Victorious.
The new series, titled Hollywood Arts, will air 26 episodes starting in 2026 on Netflix, with plans for later releases on Nickelodeon and Paramount+, according to Variety.
Daniella Monet, who played Trina Vega on the original show, will return in her role and also serve as an executive producer.
The series will start filming soon in Vancouver. The story follows Trina as she comes back to Hollywood Arts High School as a substitute teacher, despite being unqualified. She ends up clashing with her students but also inspiring them as they pursue their own dreams in the performing arts.
“Coming back as Trina alongside such a dynamic, powerful cast of newcomers is something I feel very lucky and grateful to do,” Monet said in a statement shared by Variety.
“Victorious was in a lot of ways life changing for all of us, our cast is forever bonded by that experience, and to think that I have an opportunity to steward anything close to that is a feeling I can’t begin to describe.” She added, “As an actress, producer, and mom, I am so eager to create something we can all be proud to share with the world.”
The new cast will include Alyssa Miles, Emmy Liu-Wang, Peyton Jackson, Erika Swayze, and Martin Kamm. Yvette Nicole Brown is also set to guest star.
Victorious originally aired on Nickelodeon from 2010 to 2013 and followed Tori Vega, a teenager who attends Hollywood Arts High School.
She joins the school after stepping in for her sister Trina in a performance, meeting friends like Andre Harris, Robbie Shapiro, Jade West, Cat Valentine, and Beck Oliver along the way. While critics were mixed, the show was popular with viewers and won Favorite TV Show at the Kids’ Choice Awards in 2012 and 2013. It also earned four Emmy nominations.
The series had ended after four seasons, with some controversy over its split third season and the later Sam & Cat spinoff. Despite critiques of its format and humor, fans embraced the show, making it a cultural touchstone for Nickelodeon’s tween audience.
Hollywood Arts aims to capture the same energy and humor of the original series while introducing new characters and stories for a modern audience.
This spinoff has a lot of potential. Revisiting a beloved show like Victorious while introducing fresh faces could attract both old fans and new viewers. What do you think about this new series? Share your thoughts in the comments.
