Netflix is about to lose a big chunk of its animated movie library, as most of the films from the Shrek and Despicable Me series are set to leave the streaming service soon.

Fans of these popular franchises will need to act fast if they want to watch them before they disappear.

The Shrek movies have only recently joined Netflix, but almost all of them will be gone by November 1st. Shrek, Shrek 2, Shrek The Third, and Puss in Boots are all leaving, leaving just Shrek: Forever After on the platform.

Despicable Me fans are also affected. Netflix confirmed that three of the five films—Despicable Me, Despicable Me 2, and Minions, will no longer be available starting October 31st. Despicable Me 3 and Despicable Me 4 will remain on Netflix for now.

This kind of rotation isn’t unusual for Netflix, as licensing deals often mean movies come and go. However, losing so many entries from two major franchises at the same time could frustrate subscribers. The Shrek movies, in particular, had only recently arrived on Netflix, making their departure feel even more sudden.

On top of that, many of the Shrek films will also leave Peacock at the same time. This limits streaming options for viewers who rely solely on subscription services, meaning fans might need to turn to digital rentals or purchases if they want to watch these classics.

At the moment, it’s unclear where the movies will appear next month, as most streaming schedules for November haven’t been announced yet.
