Unlike previous installments, this story moves the action to a quiet town away from Woodsboro and emphasizes Sidney’s life and family. The movie is directed by Kevin Williamson, the original creator of the franchise, and promises to bring back the suspense and tension that made the series famous in the 1990s.

Campbell’s return to the role of Sidney comes after she skipped the previous film over a salary disagreement. She has spoken publicly about her appreciation for fans who supported her comeback and her excitement to work with Williamson again. Outside the Scream franchise, Campbell has remained active, starring recently in the Netflix series The Lincoln Lawyer.

May, who plays Tatum Prescott, is one of Hollywood’s rising stars. She gained recognition for her role as Elsa Dutton in the Yellowstone prequel series 1883 and its follow-up 1923. She is also set to appear in the upcoming thriller The Last Mrs. Parrish alongside Jennifer Lopez, directed by Robert Zemeckis.
The Scream 7 cast combines veteran actors and new faces. Courteney Cox returns as Gale Weathers, while Jasmin Savoy Brown and Mason Gooding reprise their roles. Fresh additions include Joel McHale, Anna Camp, Mckenna Grace, and Jimmy Tatro.
