New Anime Crown: 2025’s Top-Rated Anime Film Ousts ‘Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle’
Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – The Movie: Infinity Castle has been overtaken as the highest-rated anime film of 2025, according to IMDb ratings.
The new leader is Chainsaw Man – The Movie: Reze Arc, which currently holds an 8.6 rating, just above Demon Slayer’s 8.5.


Chainsaw Man – The Movie: Reze Arc, also known in Japanese as 劇場版 チェンソーマン レゼ篇 (Gekijō-ban Chensō Man Reze-hen), is a dark fantasy action film based on Tatsuki Fujimoto’s popular manga series.
The movie acts as a direct sequel to the first season of the Chainsaw Man anime. Produced by MAPPA, the film is directed by Tatsuya Yoshihara and written by Hiroshi Seko.
The movie premiered in Japan on September 19, through Toho. Internationally, Crunchyroll will release the film with Sony Pictures Releasing from September 24 in select Asian markets and globally by October 24.

Chainsaw Man: Reze Arc had a strong opening in Japan, selling over 272,000 tickets and earning more than ¥420 million (around $2.8 million) on its first day.
It went on to sell 807,000 tickets over its opening weekend, raking in ¥1.251 billion (approximately $8.46 million) at the box office. Until this release, Demon Slayer – Infinity Castle had dominated the Japanese box office for nine straight weeks.
The film’s success marks a significant milestone for the Chainsaw Man franchise, proving its growing popularity among anime fans worldwide.
