New ‘Avatar: The Last Airbender’ Book Explores the Creatures of the Four Nations

A new book set in the world of Avatar: The Last Airbender is coming this fall. Beasts of the Four Nations: Creatures from ‘Avatar: The Last Airbender’ and ‘The Legend of Korra’ is a full-color guide to the animals of the Four Nations.

The book is written by John O’Bryan, one of the original Avatar writers, along with series co-creators Michael Dante DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko. It will feature cover art by Devin Elle Kurtz.

Fans will get to learn more about creatures like the flying bison, elephant-koi, fire ferrets, and the little purple pentapus.

The standard hardcover edition will cost $39.99, while a Deluxe Edition with a special cover and artwork will be $79.99.

The book will be released in bookstores on September 23 and in comic shops on September 24. It is available for preorder now on Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and other retailers.
