Spider-Man: Brand New Day‘ has already smashed box office records since its release, but fans still can’t seem to get enough behind-the-scenes content from the production. New footage has continued to surface online in the weeks following the film’s debut, offering glimpses into just how much work went into making the movie’s version of New York City feel authentic.

The latest clip making the rounds comes from Instagram user n8thankim, showing a busy street scene filled with extras, storefronts, and even a dog wandering through the shot. It’s the kind of candid, unpolished footage that gives fans a very different perspective than the polished trailers and posters Sony and Marvel released ahead of the film’s premiere.

That kind of footage matters more than it might initially seem, given how much of ‘Brand New Day’ was actually filmed thousands of miles away from the city it depicts. As previously confirmed by Tom Holland himself, the majority of the production took place in the UK, using London’s Pinewood Studios and the streets of Glasgow, Scotland, to recreate the look and feel of Manhattan.

Glasgow’s transformation into a stand-in for New York required serious commitment from local authorities and the production team alike. More than fifty roads across the city were closed for at least two weeks to accommodate filming, complete with yellow New York-style taxis, American police cars, and even a tank rolling through the streets to sell the illusion for cast, crew, and curious bystanders.

That kind of large-scale location work was part of what made scenes like the film’s now-famous tank sequence possible in the first place. Sony previously released an official “Day One” behind-the-scenes vignette showing Holland suiting up and performing a high-wire stunt atop a military vehicle barreling down a Glasgow street, with the actor exclaiming that it “felt sick” once the take wrapped.

Beyond the big stunt sequences, plenty of smaller street-level moments, like the kind captured in this newer clip, required just as much careful staging to sell the New York setting. Crowds of extras, dressed and directed to mimic the energy of a real Manhattan sidewalk, became a key part of grounding the film’s more grounded, street-level tone.

Much of that grounded approach extended beyond just the setting itself. Behind-the-scenes photos have also surfaced showing the lengths the production went to recreate iconic imagery from the comics, including a sequence built around Spider-Man’s classic battle with Tarantula, which required stunt performers in body stockings to physically support the villain during filming.

Director Destin Daniel Cretton, who took over the franchise from Jon Watts, has leaned into this kind of practical filmmaking throughout the production, blending real sets and street closures with visual effects to maintain believability. That approach appears to be resonating with both critics and audiences, given the film’s record-breaking opening weekend performance.

With ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’ still dominating conversations weeks after release, it’s clear fans remain hungry for every scrap of footage that reveals how the film’s world came together. Between official featurettes and candid clips like this latest one, the picture of just how much effort went into building this version of New York keeps getting clearer.
