The new season continues the story of Ahsoka Tano and her Jedi apprentice, Sabine Wren, after the events of Return of the Jedi (1983).

The show takes place around the same time as The Mandalorian, following Ahsoka and Sabine as they find themselves stranded in another galaxy. Meanwhile, Grand Admiral Thrawn is preparing the remaining forces of the Galactic Empire to rise against the New Republic.

Rosario Dawson returns as Ahsoka Tano, with Natasha Liu Bordizzo playing Sabine Wren once again.

The cast also includes Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Ivanna Sakhno, Eman Esfandi, Hayden Christensen, and Rory McCann, who replaced the late Ray Stevenson as Baylan Skoll. Christensen’s return as Anakin Skywalker continues to be one of the most talked-about parts of the series.

Dave Filoni, the showrunner and creator, is once again leading the season. He wrote all eight episodes and also decided to focus on this second season instead of jumping straight into The Mandalorian crossover movie he had been planning. Bryce Dallas Howard directed two of the new episodes.

Filming for Ahsoka Season 2 began in April in the United Kingdom and wrapped up at the end of September. Sources close to the production confirmed that the season will premiere on Disney+ and will include eight episodes.

Alongside the main cast, several familiar Star Wars characters will return, including Huyang, Grand Admiral Thrawn, Chopper, Admiral Ackbar, and Garazeb “Zeb” Orrelios.

With Natasha Liu Bordizzo’s new photo making the rounds and her promise that things are only getting more epic, fans can’t wait to see where Ahsoka’s next adventure will lead when the show arrives on Disney+.
