A new look at Adeline Rudolph as Kitana in the highly anticipated Mortal Kombat II has been revealed, building excitement for the 2026 sequel.

The movie continues the story from the 2021 Mortal Kombat film, adapting the popular video game series for the big screen.

Mortal Kombat II is directed by Simon McQuoid and written by Jeremy Slater. Returning cast members include Jessica McNamee, Josh Lawson, Ludi Lin, Mehcad Brooks, Lewis Tan, Damon Herriman, Chin Han, Tadanobu Asano, Joe Taslim, and Hiroyuki Sanada. Joining them this time are Karl Urban, Adeline Rudolph, and Tati Gabrielle.

After the 2021 release, producer Todd Garner, writer Greg Russo, and McQuoid started planning the future of the franchise, discussing spin-offs focused on characters like Johnny Cage and Bi-Han/Sub-Zero, along with a direct sequel.

By 2022, Warner Bros. officially green-lit Mortal Kombat II, with Slater writing the script and McQuoid returning as director.

Filming for the sequel began in June 2023 in Australia but faced a pause in mid-July due to the SAG-AFTRA strike. Production resumed in mid-November and wrapped in late January 2024. Warner Bros. has scheduled the film for a theatrical release on May 15, 2026.

The story follows the champions of Earthrealm, who, alongside Johnny Cage, must fight to stop Shao Kahn’s rise and save their world. Fans are particularly excited about Rudolph’s portrayal of Kitana, a character central to the conflict in the sequel.

This new image of Adeline Rudolph as Kitana gives fans a first glimpse at the character’s updated look. It highlights the film’s mix of action, fantasy, and martial arts, staying true to the spirit of the game series while expanding its cinematic universe.
