New Look at ‘Cape Fear’ Revealed as Martin Scorsese and Steven Spielberg Team Up Behind the Scenes
A new thriller series is on the way, and it already has a lot of attention because of the big names behind it. Cape Fear is coming to Apple TV+, with Martin Scorsese and Steven Spielberg working as executive producers. The show is run by Nick Antosca, who is known for creating dark and intense stories.

The story follows a married couple whose lives are turned upside down. Amy Adams plays Anna, and Patrick Wilson plays her husband Tom. Their past comes back to haunt them when a dangerous man they helped put in prison is released. That man, Max Cady, is played by Javier Bardem. His goal is simple and clear, and it is revenge.

The official description of the show says, “A storm is coming for happily married attorneys Anna (Amy Adams) and Tom Bowden (Patrick Wilson) when Max Cady (Javier Bardem), the notorious killer they are responsible for putting behind bars, is let out of prison — and he wants vengeance.” The tone of the series is expected to be dark, tense, and focused on fear and pressure.
The cast also includes several well-known actors. Ron Perlman, Ted Levine, Margarita Levieva, and Patrick Fischler are part of the series. Other cast members include Joe Anders, Lily Collias, Malia Pyles, and CCH Pounder.
This new version of Cape Fear is based on the book The Executioners by John D. MacDonald. The story has been adapted before. There was a 1962 film starring Gregory Peck, and later a 1991 version directed by Scorsese with Robert De Niro. This new series brings the story back in a longer format, giving more time to build tension and develop the characters.
