New Look at ‘The Running Man’: The Deadly Game Begins in New Trailer
Paramount Pictures has released a new trailer for The Running Man, giving fans a glimpse at the new take on Stephen King’s classic 1982 novel, written under the name Richard Bachman.
The movie is directed by Edgar Wright, who co-wrote the script with Michael Bacall. This version marks the second time the story has been adapted for film, following the 1987 movie starring Arnold Schwarzenegger.
The story centers on a deadly game show called The Running Man. Contestants, known as “runners,” must survive against a team of Hunters who are tasked with tracking them down and killing them.
Any runner who can stay alive for 30 days wins a massive prize of $1 billion. The new trailer shows intense chases, suspenseful action, and a tense futuristic world where survival is the ultimate test.

Glen Powell stars as Ben Richards, the main runner, while Josh Brolin plays Dan Killian, the show’s producer. Colman Domingo appears as Bobby Thompson, the show’s host.
The film also features Lee Pace, Jayme Lawson, Emilia Jones, Michael Cera, William H. Macy, Daniel Ezra, and Karl Glusman in key roles. In a fun nod to the original movie, Arnold Schwarzenegger makes a photographic cameo as the face of the movie’s $100 bill.
Edgar Wright, known for his work on Baby Driver and Scott Pilgrim vs. the World, brings his signature energy and style to the project. Fans can expect a mix of action, dark humor, and social commentary, reflecting both the original novel and Wright’s vision for a modern audience.
The Running Man is set to be released in the United States on November 14. It will be available in standard theaters as well as premium formats like IMAX, 4DX, and Dolby Cinema. The release date was adjusted a few times to avoid clashing with other major releases, including Predator: Badlands.
