The beloved Meet the Parents series is getting a brand new sequel, and the title was officially announced today. The next installment will be called Focker-in-Law, a name that has already caught a lot of attention for being both hilarious and a bit wild.

This new film brings back a star-studded cast, including Robert De Niro, Ben Stiller, Owen Wilson, Blythe Danner, Teri Polo, and Beanie Feldstein. Adding to the excitement, pop superstar Ariana Grande is also joining the cast. Fans can look forward to seeing this new chapter hit theaters on November 25, 2026.

The idea for this fourth movie in the franchise came up during the 25th anniversary screening of the original Meet the Parents. Ben Stiller explained what sparked the idea: “What spurred the idea is that I’m the age that Bob was when we did the first movie. It felt like a mirror to the first film, where one of my kids is thinking about introducing his person to the family.”

This reflection on age and family dynamics creates a fresh reason to bring these characters back to the big screen.

Robert De Niro, who plays the iconic Jack Byrnes, also shared some thoughts about the upcoming film during the Tribeca Film Festival, which he helped start in 2002. He said, “The script is really fun,” and expressed his eagerness about the project: “I’m looking forward to it.” Though he didn’t reveal any plot details, De Niro’s enthusiasm hints at a lively and entertaining story ahead.

John Hamburg, the writer behind the first three movies, is returning once again to write and direct Focker-in-Law. This continuity promises to keep the humor and heart fans have come to love throughout the franchise.

It’s worth noting that Focker-in-Law will be the first Meet the Parents film since 2010’s Little Fockers. The previous sequel, Meet the Fockers, came out back in 2004, so it’s been quite a while since audiences last saw the family’s hilarious adventures.

According to the information shared at the Tribeca Festival and other sources, the movie is gearing up to deliver that classic mix of awkward family moments and comedy, but with a fresh twist tied to the new generation.

The release date is set for late 2026, and fans of the franchise are already buzzing with anticipation.

With the original cast reunited, the addition of Ariana Grande, and John Hamburg back in the director’s chair, Focker-in-Law promises to bring a new wave of laughs and family chaos to theaters.
