The new footage gives fans another glimpse of the dark world the story takes place in. The film features Ralph Fiennes, Jack O’Connell, Alfie Williams, Erin Kellyman, and Chi Lewis-Parry. According to Sony Pictures, viewers will follow Spike, a teenager who becomes involved with a deadly group known as the Jimmys.
The country is broken, and this violent cult has taken control in parts of the wasteland. At the same time, Dr. Ian Kelson begins a journey that may hold major consequences for the world’s future.
Aaron Taylor-Johnson returns as Jamie, a father searching for his son, and Cillian Murphy also comes back as Jim. His return was teased at the end of the earlier film, setting up this next chapter.
The new poster shows off the movie’s tense tone, while the latest trailer gives a closer look at the danger rising around the characters. With the Rage Virus still spreading fear and the infected evolving in new ways, the story appears to be taking the franchise into its darkest place yet.

Sony Pictures says the film will arrive in theaters on January 16, 2026, and a follow-up is already being planned.
