The Yellowstone universe continues to grow, and its newest chapter is already breaking records. Dutton Ranch, the latest spinoff following fan-favorite characters Rip Wheeler and Beth Dutton, has become the biggest original series launch in Paramount+ history.

According to Paramount+, the show’s first episodes attracted 12.9 million global views within its first seven days. That number officially makes it the streamer’s strongest original series debut so far, beating the previous record held by another Yellowstone-related project, The Madison, which collected more than 8 million views during its first 10 days after release.

The success shows that audiences are still very interested in the world created by Taylor Sheridan. While Yellowstone ended its main run, the franchise continues through new stories that explore different parts of the Dutton family and the people connected to them.

Dutton Ranch follows Rip Wheeler, played by Cole Hauser, and Beth Dutton, played by Kelly Reilly, as they begin a new life after leaving Montana. The couple faces a major setback after losing all their cattle because of disease, forcing them to find a new path.

Their next move brings them to Texas, where they join Beulah Jackson’s 10 Petal Ranch. Beulah, played by Annette Bening, was previously seen as a rival, but she becomes an important part of Rip and Beth’s new journey.

Rip takes on the role of ranch foreman, helping manage cattle operations and working with other ranchers. Meanwhile, Beth uses her business skills to help build the ranch’s public image. She promises that she can transform 10 Petal into a major brand and make it a “recession-proof household name” within three years.

The change in location represents a fresh start for the couple. Christina Alexandra Voros, who directed episodes and serves as an executive producer on the series, previously described this new chapter as “a new beginning, the kind of heartbeat and story of the American West.”

The show is also performing well outside streaming. According to Paramount Network numbers, Dutton Ranch attracted 2.9 million viewers on premiere night across its two-episode debut. The first episode alone reached 1.9 million viewers, making it the biggest cable series premiere since 2023.

The strong opening comes as no surprise considering the popularity of Yellowstone and the connection fans have with Rip and Beth. Their relationship became one of the most loved parts of the original series, and many viewers were eager to see what happened after they left Montana behind.

The first season features returning Yellowstone stars Cole Hauser and Kelly Reilly, along with new additions including Annette Bening, Ed Harris, Finn Little, and Jai Courtney.

New episodes of Dutton Ranch are being released weekly on Fridays through July 3. The series is expected to continue expanding the Yellowstone universe while exploring a different side of the modern American West.

With its record-breaking debut, Dutton Ranch has already proven that the Yellowstone name remains one of the biggest forces in television. The franchise that started with one ranch in Montana now has another major success story growing in Texas.
