Next-Gen Xbox Rumored to Surpass PS6 in Power
A new report from Moore’s Law Is Dead suggests that the next-generation Xbox could be significantly more powerful than the upcoming PlayStation 6.
According to the report, the console will use the AMD Magnus APU, which will be the largest APU ever installed in a gaming console. This move is expected to give Xbox an edge in performance, though it could also make the console more expensive.
The report points out that this power could make the Xbox more appealing to PC gamers. While the PS6 is expected to handle games at 4K 120FPS, the new Xbox could potentially run 4K at 144FPS. This higher frame rate would be particularly noticeable for gamers playing on monitors rather than large TVs.
“It should be stronger than the PS6, but at the same time, it will also be more expensive because of this larger size and its use of bridge dies and likely a larger RAM capacity compared to the PS6, at least if it wants to work well as a PC console hybrid,” the report explains.
Moore’s Law Is Dead also speculates that the console’s price could exceed $1,000, though it would still be cheaper than a high-end gaming PC.
The idea is that Xbox could provide a mass-produced console capable of competing with expensive pre-built PCs, offering both power and accessibility.
The report also addresses rumors suggesting that Xbox might be stepping away from the console market. According to the source, these rumors are not true, and Microsoft remains committed to producing next-gen hardware.
This new information raises some interesting questions for gamers. Are you excited about a console that could rival a gaming PC, or do you think the price might be too high? Share your thoughts in the comments.
