Next James Bond Might Be Younger Than Ever After Actor’s Alleged Private Meeting With Villeneuve
Jacob Elordi is reportedly in the running to become the next James Bond, and fans are already buzzing about the possibility. The Oscar-nominated actor has been linked to early discussions for the iconic role, which carries decades of history and cultural significance. According to World of Reel, Amazon is quietly backing Elordi as a top candidate, though no official offer has been made yet.
Director Denis Villeneuve, known for visually stunning films like Dune, is already preparing for the next Bond reboot. Casting the right actor is key, as 007 must be both charming and dangerous. Reports from Showbiz 411 suggest Elordi has already met with Villeneuve and the producers to discuss the role.
While nothing is finalized, the meetings signal that he is a serious contender. The final decision on the next Bond actor is not expected until mid-2026.
Elordi’s rise in Hollywood has been impressive. In 2024, he appeared in Paul Schrader’s Oh, Canada, playing a younger version of Richard Gere’s character. He also earned praise for On Swift Horses, a period drama about LGBTQ relationships, where he played Julius, a gambler who falls in love in 1950s Las Vegas. Critics highlighted his sensitive and electrifying performance.
He has also starred in the miniseries adaptation of The Narrow Road to the Deep North and took on the role of Frankenstein’s monster in Guillermo del Toro’s Netflix horror adaptation of the classic story. That role earned him his first Oscar nomination for Best Supporting Actor on January 22.
Elordi’s schedule remains packed with high-profile projects. He will appear in Ridley Scott’s science fiction film The Dog Stars, set to release on August 28, and play Heathcliff in Emerald Fennell’s adaptation of Wuthering Heights alongside Margot Robbie. Fans are also anticipating the return of the third and final season of Euphoria on HBO, set for April 12.
With his mix of charisma, intensity, and emotional range, Elordi has the qualities that many believe make him a strong contender to inherit the James Bond mantle. As World of Reel reports, Amazon’s involvement and Villeneuve’s creative direction mean the next Bond could take the franchise in exciting new directions.
