Nicki Minaj Calls Herself Trump’s “No. 1 Fan” While Backing Baby Investment Accounts
Nicki Minaj made headlines on Wednesday, January 28, when she spoke at the Trump Accounts Summit in Washington, D.C., expressing strong support for President Donald Trump and his new program for U.S.-born babies. The rapper praised the initiative, which provides investment accounts to children born between January 1, 2025, and December 31, 2028.
“I am probably the president’s No. 1 fan, and that’s not going to change,” Minaj told the audience. She added that criticism over her support doesn’t discourage her. “The hate — or what people have to say — it does not affect me at all. It actually motivates me to support him more. And it’s going to motivate all of us to support him more.”

According to CNBC, Minaj plans to donate between $150,000 and $300,000 to the program. The Trump Accounts, introduced as part of the “One Big Beautiful Bill Act,” start with a $1,000 government contribution.
Families can contribute up to $5,000 per year, and the funds are invested in a broad stock-market index. Recipients will not have access to the money until they turn 18, with the potential for the account to grow to $1.9 million if left untouched.
Minaj also emphasized the importance of teaching children about financial literacy. In a social media post promoting her participation, she wrote, “Early financial literacy & financial support for our children will give them a major head start in life. In some cases, they will end up teaching their very own parents how to invest & what to invest in. This makes me very happy.”

Other major donors include Dell Technologies founder Michael Dell and his wife, Susan Dell, who pledged over $6 billion to the program in December 2025. Trump called their contribution “truly one of the most generous acts in the history of our country,” and said he also plans to contribute personally.
This isn’t Minaj’s first public endorsement of Trump in recent months. She previously appeared at the United Nations in November to speak on religious violence overseas as a guest of the Trump administration. In December, she also praised Trump at Turning Point USA’s AmericaFest, telling the crowd, “I have the utmost respect and admiration for our president. I don’t know if he even knows this, but he’s given so many people hope.”
Minaj’s comments and her donation to the Trump Accounts highlight her continued involvement in initiatives linked to the former president and her willingness to publicly support his projects despite controversy.
It’s interesting to see a high-profile artist like Nicki Minaj taking such a clear and active stance in politics while tying it to financial programs for children. It raises questions about celebrity influence on political initiatives. Do you think public figures should take such visible roles in political programs, or should they stay neutral?
