Nicki Minaj caused a storm online over the weekend after posting a long series of angry messages on X while the Grammy Awards were airing.

The rapper did not attend the ceremony and was not nominated this year. Still, she made it clear she was watching from home. During the live show, host Trevor Noah joked about her recent public support for President Donald Trump. He told the audience that Nicki was “still at the White House,” which drew laughs from the crowd. Cameras showed Chrissy Teigen reacting positively to the joke.

Soon after, Nicki began posting on X as the Grammys continued. One of her first posts during the show read, “Hey wyd.” She then turned her focus on Chrissy Teigen and made a crude and false claim about her body. The comment quickly spread across social media.

Nicki later aimed her anger at Lizzo. In another post, she mocked the singer’s weight loss and album sales. The comments were widely criticized for fat-shaming and personal attacks.

As the night went on, Nicki’s posts became longer and more intense. She claimed people were working against her and accused unnamed figures of blocking her documentary and other projects. In one post, she wrote, “They sabotaged my documentary b/c i spoke about abuse that i suffered.” She added that people wanted her to fail financially and warned that consequences were coming.

Her rant then shifted toward politics, religion, immigration, and the LGBT community. Nicki shared several strong opinions about voting, political parties, and faith. In one post, she said, “Any Christian who votes democrat again is a fool.” In another, she questioned voter ID laws and made claims about immigrants and elections. She also posted religious messages, saying, “God will not be mocked.”

The posts came just days after Nicki appeared at a political event in Washington, D.C., tied to President Trump. At the event, she publicly praised him and introduced him on stage. She told the crowd, “I’m probably the president’s number one fan and that’s not going to change.” She added that criticism only pushes her to support him more.

Nicki Minaj is clearly using social media to vent and make noise, but these kinds of attacks cross a line. Personal insults and false claims distract from real issues and hurt people who did nothing to start the drama.
