Prime Video confirmed that Spider-Noir will premiere on May 27, with all episodes available for binge-watching on the same day. Fans will also have a unique viewing option: the show can be streamed in either “Authentic Black & White” or “True-Hue Full Color,” reflecting the original comic’s muted palette versus a fully colored adaptation.
The cast features Lamorne Morris, Li Jun Li, Karen Rodriguez, Abraham Popoola, Jack Huston, and Brendan Gleeson. The series is produced by Sony Pictures Television for MGM+ and Prime Video, with Harry Bradbeer, known for Fleabag, directing and executive producing the first two episodes. Co-showrunners Oren Uziel and Steve Lightfoot developed the series alongside Phil Lord, Christopher Miller, and Amy Pascal, who also worked on Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse.
Spider-Noir marks Cage’s first lead role in a TV series and takes a bold turn from traditional superhero storytelling. By blending the gritty noir detective genre with Spider-Man mythology, the show promises a fresh perspective on the character and the Spider-Verse.
This adaptation could signal a new direction for superhero shows, mixing classic comic book storytelling with cinematic experimentation. With Cage in the lead, the series is already attracting attention from both Marvel fans and those curious about his take on the iconic character.
