Noah Wyle Steps Out with Wife Sara Wells at Actor Awards Night
Noah Wyle had a big moment at the 2026 Actor Awards, where he arrived with his wife Sara Wells for the Los Angeles ceremony. The night turned into a major win for Wyle. He earned Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Drama Series for his role in The Pitt. The show also won for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama Series.
The medical drama recently returned with its second season and has already been renewed for a third. The story continues months after the events of the first season and still focuses on one hospital shift.
Speaking with NPR, Wyle explained one of the show’s key choices. He said the team decided not to use background music to make scenes feel more real.

He said, One of the decisions we made early on was to not employ any soundtrack on the show. And by lifting the music out, we’ve sort of removed the artifice that says you’re watching a TV show, and we need you to feel sad here ‘cause we’re playing strings or exciting here because we’re using percussion.”
“We’re letting the sort of symphony of the sound of the procedures in the room be our cadence, and a lot of that is the technical jargon that the doctors are employing. It becomes the soundtrack in the scene, and the intensity with which they’re delivering those lines becomes the emotional equivalent of a score. And it’s really less important the audience understands and more important that the audience sees that the doctors know what they’re talking about. It’s competency porn, he told NPR.
The cast includes Sepideh Moafi, Fiona Dourif, and Shawn Hatosy. Wyle also directed some episodes this season, adding to his work behind the camera.
His earlier series Falling Skies has recently gained new viewers after becoming available on Netflix. From his past role as Dr. John Carter to his current character Dr. Michael Robby Robinavitch, Wyle continues to stay active in medical dramas.
The team behind The Pitt is also working with medical experts to keep the stories accurate. Removing music is a risky move but it makes the scenes feel more intense and real. It puts focus on the actors and the action instead of guiding emotions. What do you think, does the lack of music improve the show or does it take something away?
