Dana Terrace, the creator of the Disney animated series The Owl House, has called on fans to cancel their Disney+ subscriptions and pirate her show.

The statement came in response to Disney CEO Bob Iger’s announcement that generative AI and short-form user-created content will soon be added to Disney+. On X, Terrace wrote, “Unsubscribe from Disney+. Pirate Owl House. I don’t care. F*** gen AI.”

Terrace is a well-known figure in animation. She worked as a storyboard artist on Gravity Falls, where she collaborated with creator Alex Hirsch, who later served as a creative consultant on The Owl House and voiced multiple characters.

Since The Owl House ended controversially in 2023, Terrace has moved on to adult animation. She is now creating Knights of Guinevere with the independent studio Glitch Productions.
