Disney’s Destination D23 2025 wrapped up with a brief but exciting panel from Walt Disney Studios.

While fans didn’t get many new details or exclusive sneak peeks about Avengers: Doomsday, there was one big highlight. The Russo Brothers appeared on screen with Paul Rudd and delivered a message directly from the set. According to the Russo Brothers, Avengers: Doomsday is the biggest movie they have ever worked on.

Paul Rudd took the spotlight next and shared his thoughts on the film. “We’re surrounded by jaw dropping sets and some truly incredible talent, many of who you just saw teased in that great video. Bringing this story to the big screen means the world to us and we couldn’t do it without your support,” Rudd said.

His message captured the excitement and scale of the production, giving fans a glimpse of the behind-the-scenes atmosphere.

Avengers: Doomsday is the upcoming fifth installment in the Avengers series. The film continues the story following Avengers: Endgame (2019). Directed by Anthony and Joe Russo, and written by Michael Waldron and Stephen McFeely, the movie brings together a huge cast.

Chris Hemsworth, Vanessa Kirby, Anthony Mackie, Sebastian Stan, Letitia Wright, Paul Rudd, Wyatt Russell, Tenoch Huerta Mejía, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, Simu Liu, Florence Pugh, Kelsey Grammer, Lewis Pullman, Danny Ramirez, Joseph Quinn, David Harbour, Winston Duke, Hannah John-Kamen, Tom Hiddleston, Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen, Alan Cumming, Rebecca Romijn, James Marsden, Channing Tatum, Pedro Pascal, and Robert Downey Jr. are all part of the ensemble. In the story, the Avengers, Wakandans, Fantastic Four, New Avengers, and the original X-Men team up to face Doctor Doom, played by Downey.

The project has seen several changes over the years. The Kang Dynasty was originally scheduled as part of Phase Six but went through director and writer changes. Jonathan Majors, originally set to reprise Kang the Conqueror, was later removed from the project. The Russo Brothers returned as directors, McFeely as co-writer, and the film received the new subtitle Doomsday in July 2024.

Filming started in April of this year at Pinewood Studios in England, with additional location shoots in England and Bahrain.

The film is now scheduled for a U.S. release on December 18, 2026, and it is part of Phase Six of the MCU. Its sequel, Avengers: Secret Wars, is set to release on December 17, 2027, and will conclude Phase Six.

Rudd’s message highlights the scale and excitement surrounding the project, showing that even with a star-studded cast and epic storyline, the actors are still focused on delivering a film fans will love.
