Marvel Rivals has become one of the most popular online battle games right now. With The Fantastic Four: First Steps movie coming out soon, it makes sense that Marvel is using the game to keep fans excited. It’s a smart move, and it’s working.

To celebrate the movie, the game added some new character skins. But the one that caught everyone’s attention wasn’t new at all. It was the Malice skin for Sue Storm.

Malice comes from an old and dark storyline in the comics. She’s the evil side of Sue Storm, brought out by a villain named Psycho-Man.

He used the Hate-Monger to control Sue’s mind and turned her against the rest of the Fantastic Four. Eventually, Mister Fantastic helped her return to her normal self, but not without lasting damage. After that, she stopped calling herself Invisible Girl and started going by Invisible Woman.

She also gained new powers and started making Force Objects. Still, deep down, she was afraid that Malice was still part of her.

Recently, the cast of The Fantastic Four: First Steps sat down with YouTuber Loserfruit to play Marvel Rivals. They got to try out the game using their own characters. While they were looking at the skins in the game, Loserfruit pointed out that the Malice skin is the most popular one for Sue Storm.

Seeing Malice in-game clearly surprised the cast. Pedro Pascal, Joseph Quinn, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach were all taken aback by how intense it looked. You can see their reaction in the video at around 4 minutes and 50 seconds.

Vanessa Kirby looked at the screen and said, “Watch out for the sequel, you better watch it.” While Pascal commented, “Costume designer, take notes.”

Fans seemed to enjoy watching the actors have fun with the game, and the cast turned out to be better players than expected, well taking into account that they are playing the game for the first time in their life.

The whole session added another fun layer to the buildup around the movie and gave fans a cool crossover between gaming and film.

The Malice skin may come from a darker chapter of Sue Storm’s past, but it’s clearly one that fans haven’t forgotten.
