‘Percy Jackson’ Season 3 Gets a Massive Update – And a First Look
The Percy Jackson series on Disney+ isn’t slowing down anytime soon. Even though season 2 hasn’t come out yet, season 3 is already filming.
The news was shared through the show’s official Instagram page, where fans got a behind-the-scenes look at Walker Scobell (Percy Jackson himself) holding a clapperboard. The post confirmed that production for season 3 has officially started.
Season 3 will be based on The Titan’s Curse, the third book in Rick Riordan’s popular fantasy series. Disney+ had already given the green light for the new season back in March 2025, before season 2 had even premiered. That decision came after the huge success of season 1, which received a 91% score on Rotten Tomatoes and quickly became one of the most-watched shows on the platform.
While fans are still waiting for season 2, which is set to drop on December 10, it’s clear the team behind the show is wasting no time. Rick Riordan has said before that they were planning future seasons early on. “We’ve been laying the groundwork for future seasons from the very beginning,” he shared while talking about the show’s development. He worked closely with showrunners Jonathan E. Steinberg and Dan Shotz to map things out.
Season 2 will follow the events of The Sea of Monsters, while season 3 picks up the story in The Titan’s Curse. The third book starts with Percy, Annabeth, and Thalia going to a boarding school called Westover Hall. That’s where they try to rescue two new demigod siblings. The recent set photo hints that this school is already being filmed.
The two characters being introduced are Nico and Bianca di Angelo. They were announced at San Diego Comic-Con, with Levi Chrisopulos playing Nico and Olive Abercrombie (from Mayfair Witches) taking on the role of Bianca.
If the show sticks to the same production schedule as the earlier seasons, fans might be able to watch season 3 by December 2026. It’s still a bit of a wait, but with filming already underway, things are moving in the right direction.
So even before season 2 hits our screens, it’s good to know that Percy’s next adventure is already on the way.
