Pierce Brosnan has shared a new hint about the DC universe, and it has started a lot of talk online.

In a recent interview with GQ, he looked back on his time playing Dr. Fate in Black Adam. He explained that the movie came out right before DC decided to restart its whole film universe under James Gunn.

When he was asked whether he was now trying to join Marvel instead, he said that he wasn’t chasing any studio.

“No, I’m not,” Brosnan said. “I’ve never banged down anyone’s door. I mean, they know where to find me.” He also revealed something interesting he had heard behind the scenes.

According to him, “I’ve heard that Dr Fate was going to have his own show, or his own movie. I’ve heard that he’s going to be in the next Superman.” When asked if he would return, he said he enjoyed playing the character and added, “I would definitely be open to it.”

Information from DC updates and reports shows that James Gunn has been busy shaping the next era of Superman movies.

In June, Gunn said he had started writing another film featuring Superman, but it would not be a direct sequel. Later, Warner Bros. Discovery head David Zaslav confirmed that Gunn was writing and directing the next movie in what he called the “Super-Family.” Gunn then announced that the new film is titled Man of Tomorrow, coming to theaters on July 9, 2027.

He said the story is part of what he calls the “Superman Saga.” Gunn also said the movie is “as much a Lex movie as it is a Superman movie,” and that the two characters would team up to face a bigger threat. It was later confirmed that Brainiac will be the villain. Filming is planned to begin in April 2026 in Atlanta.

There have also been reports from outlets following DC projects that new spin-off shows are being considered. One of them is a series centered on Jimmy Olsen, played by Skyler Gisondo. In November, more details came out, saying the show will stream on HBO Max and follow Olsen as he hosts a true crime-style program where Daily Planet reporters look into super villains.

Gorilla Grodd is said to be the focus of the first season. Some early reports called it DC Crime, but Gunn publicly said that the title was wrong.

Altogether, Brosnan’s comments and Gunn’s updates show that DC is moving fast with its new Superman plans. And if Brosnan is right, fans might see Dr. Fate again sooner than expected, possibly in Man of Tomorrow.
