Amazon Prime Video has released a first look at The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power Season 3 with a short new teaser called “The Sword of the Faithful.”

The 26-second clip was shared on the show’s official X and Instagram accounts on September 10. On Instagram, it has received over 21,000 likes, while the X post has more than 409,000 views.

The teaser gives fans a quick, out-of-focus glimpse of Lloyd Owen as Elendil holding what appears to be Narsil, the legendary sword that once cut the One Ring from Sauron’s hand. This iconic weapon was used by King Elendil in the War of the Last Alliance and later by his son Isildur. Fans will also recognize that Isildur is a direct ancestor of Aragorn, one of Tolkien’s main heroes.

At the end of the clip, the words “The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power Season 3 Sneak Peeks” appear, suggesting that Amazon may release more short previews before the season officially airs.

Robert Aramayo, who plays Elrond, confirmed that filming for Season 3 has started in London, the same location used for Season 2. Speaking about his schedule, Aramayo said, “And then I’ll try and get a job fast,” adding that production will keep him busy until the end of the year.

This new teaser gives fans their first real look at one of Tolkien’s most famous swords and hints at the larger battles and stories that Season 3 will explore. It builds excitement for the upcoming season and gives fans a sense of the epic scale of the series.
