Robert Downey Jr. has given fans a fresh possible tease for Avengers: Doomsday with a new social media post.

The actor shared a Thanksgiving-themed image on Instagram showing a comic-style drawing of Iron Man and Doctor Doom pulling on a wishbone, with only their shoulders and hands visible. The post immediately got fans talking, with many wondering if Tony Stark might make a return alongside Downey’s confirmed role as Doctor Doom.

The actor’s casting as Doctor Doom has already fueled theories about possible dual roles or multiverse storylines in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Comments on the post included predictions about Iron Man appearing in future MCU projects, including Secret Wars.

Downey has teased his Doctor Doom role multiple times this year. He previously posted a DOOM #1 (2024) comic as part of his “Doom workstation essentials,” a Valentine’s Day image of a Doom mask filled with chocolates, and a Mother’s Day photo showing Susan Downey styled as Sue Storm while her mother knitted Doctor Doom’s costume.

Avengers: Doomsday, directed by Anthony and Joe Russo, is set to release on December 18, 2026. The movie also stars Chris Hemsworth, Vanessa Kirby, Joseph Quinn, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach. According to Collider, Marvel plans to release the first trailer on December 19, ahead of screenings of Avatar: Fire and Ash.
