Robin Wright and Olivia Cooke Heat Up the Drama in New ‘The Girlfriend’ – Watch the Trailer
Prime Video has revealed the premiere date and dropped the first-look images and teaser trailer for the new drama series The Girlfriend, starring Robin Wright and Olivia Cooke.
According to Prime Video, all six episodes of the series will be available starting September 10, exclusively on the streaming platform in over 240 countries worldwide.
The Girlfriend is based on Michelle Frances’ novel of the same name. The story follows Laura (Robin Wright), a woman who seems to have the perfect life with a successful career, a loving husband, and a devoted son, Daniel.
But her world starts to unravel when Daniel brings home his girlfriend, Cherry (Olivia Cooke), who stirs suspicion and tension. Laura becomes convinced that Cherry is hiding something. “Is she a manipulative social climber, or am I just paranoid?” Laura wonders, showing that perspective can change everything.

The series also features Laurie Davidson as Daniel, Waleed Zuaiter as Howard, Tanya Moodie as Isabella, Shalom Brune-Franklin as Brigitte, Karen Henthorn as Tracey, Anna Chancellor as Lilith, Leo Suter as Nicholas, and Francesca Corney as Millie.

The show is produced by Imaginarium Productions and Amazon MGM Studios. Jonathan Cavendish and Caroline Norris serve as producers, while Robin Wright, Will Tennant, Phil Robertson, John Zois, Dave Clarke, Gabbie Asher, and Michelle Frances are executive producers.
The adaptation for television was done by Naomi Sheldon and Gabbie Asher, with episodes written by Sheldon, Asher, Polly Cavendish, Helen Kingston, Marek Horn, Ava Wong Davies, Isis Davis, Smita Bhide, and Matt Evans.
