Russell Crowe has made it clear he has no plans to get married again. The 61-year-old actor spoke openly about his relationship with 33-year-old girlfriend Britney Theriot in an interview with Australia’s 60 Minutes that aired on Sunday, Nov. 2.

Crowe addressed rumors that the couple might be engaged. “All these reports keep coming out saying that Britney and I are engaged and I’m going to get married again,” he said. “No.”

The actor explained that he and Theriot are very happy together and enjoy a close friendship. “We are very, very good friends, and we have a wonderful relationship. My life is so joyous and happy at the moment — why ruin that with a wedding?”

Reflecting on his past marriage to Danielle Spencer, Crowe said he doesn’t feel the need to go through that experience again. “Why would I go through… I’ve been married once. I know how it can go and where it can go. So I don’t need to go to that place,” he added.

When asked about romance, Crowe shared his thoughts on being in a committed relationship without being married. “Do you know how romantic it is to be boyfriend and girlfriend? Wherever you are in the world, you know?”

He described how small gestures of respect and happiness help keep their relationship strong. “Having that slight thing, that means you got to keep respecting each other and waking up with a smile. And we do — this is something that is fascinating to me — we do everything together. We’re very happy, man. It’s a very positive life.”

Crowe concluded by reaffirming that he won’t be walking down the aisle again. “But no, I’m not going to get married again. Doing it once is cool, great, you know. But I don’t want to do it again.”

It seems that for Crowe, being happy and enjoying his relationship is more important than a wedding. He values the simple joy of spending life with someone he cares about without needing formalities.
