Russell T Davies Reveals Whom He Would Like to See as The Master in ‘Doctor Who’

As a show that has been on TV for decades, Doctor Who has featured a series of cameos from famous actors and actresses. There are so many that it wouldn’t really make a lot of sense to name them, as each of them brought something special to the show.

Now, while a lot of names have already appeared in the series, there are – of course – many names who haven’t had a cameo in Doctor Who and that is exactly what current showrunner Russell T Davies discussed with the press.

In a recent interview, Davies was asked whom he would like to see in a guest appearance and he provided us with a very interesting answer.

When first faced with the question, Davies said that “almost everyone has been in it,” which is – as we’ve said above – not far from the truth. But, while he joked about the many cameos in the series, he did have an answer ready.

“I simply worship Viola Davis, one of the greatest actors in the world, we should be so lucky we should have that money,” he said. “She just brings quality, depth, and surprise. Every time I see her she does something surprising, which is a very Doctor Who quality. She’d get it. I say this hoping that you print it, then her agent will read it and say ‘yes, you can have Viola for absolutely no money, she will come to Cardiff for free.'”

Having Viola Davis in the series would be amazing, as she is one of the best and most versatile actresses today, so there is no doubt that she would fit in the world of Doctor Who without any problems.

But, whom would she play? Well, in case you’re still mulling it over, Davies already has an idea: “I think she’d probably be the next Master. You’re not going to waste Viola Davis being nice in the corner. You’re going to have her standing there saying ‘Doctor, you are dead’. Please, make it happen, we have put that into the universe.”
