Ryan Coogler Teases ‘Black Panther 3’ Soon, Says Fans Won’t Have To Wait Long

Fans of the Black Panther series may not have to wait long for the third film. Director Ryan Coogler recently revealed that he is eager to work with Denzel Washington in the upcoming threequel.
In a new interview with Shannon Sharpe and Chad “Ochocinco” Johnson, Coogler addressed rumors that Washington is being considered for the next film.
“I’m dying to work with Denzel and I’m hoping we can make that happen,” Coogler said. “I got every intention of working with him in that movie and as long as he’s interested — it’s going to happen.”
He also called Washington a “living legend and a great mentor”, adding, “He’s all about looking out for us.”
When Sharpe asked how long fans would have to wait for the next Black Panther film, Coogler’s answer was exciting: “Not long.”
While promoting the Gladiator sequel in November 2024, Washington mentioned that Coogler was writing a role for him in the next Black Panther movie.
The upcoming installment was also rumored to feature a recast T’Challa. This is something that producer Nate Moor shut down recently. Moore, Marvel Studios’ VP of Production & Development, denied the rumors that they are looking for a new actor to play T’Challa. He explained that they haven’t even started discussing the future of ‘Black Panther’ with director Ryan Coogler because Coogler is currently focused on his upcoming film, ‘Sinners.’
Moore didn’t completely rule out the possibility of a recast in the future but made it clear that, for now, the rumors are false simply because no decisions have been made yet.
