Sadie Sink recently shared a surprising story about how she found out she was cast in the upcoming Spider-Man film, Spider-Man: Brand New Day. The actress revealed that she first learned about the role online.

“Before I got cast … there was speculation online that said, ‘Sadie Sink is gonna be in the new Spider-Man.’ I was like, ‘I am?’ Sure enough, two days later [I was offered the role],” Sink said during her appearance on the Jimmy Fallon show.

Spider-Man: Brand New Day is the next installment in the MCU and the fourth Spider-Man film starring Tom Holland. It also features Zendaya, Jacob Batalon, Liza Colón-Zayas, Jon Bernthal, Mark Ruffalo, Michael Mando, Tramell Tillman, and Marvin Jones III.

The film is directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, with Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers returning to write the screenplay. Production began in August, with location filming in Glasgow, Scotland, and additional work at Pinewood Studios and various locations across England. Filming wrapped in December.

Sony had been developing the fourth MCU Spider-Man film since at least August 2019. Producer Amy Pascal revealed in November 2021 that this film would kick off a new trilogy starring Holland. By February 2023, the writers from the previous films returned to work on the script, and Cretton was officially hired as director in October 2024. The film’s title was announced in March.

Spider-Man: Brand New Day is scheduled for release in the United States on July 31, 2026, as part of Phase Six of the MCU.

Sadie Sink’s casting in March 2025 caused a stir, with speculation linking her to the possibility of portraying the X-Men member Jean Grey within the MCU.
