Netflix is set to bring the world of Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell to life with a new adult animated series called Splinter Cell: Deathwatch. According to Ubisoft Film & Television, the series will premiere on October 14.

Fans got an early look at the action thanks to IGN, which released an exclusive scene showing Sam Fisher in action, proving that he’s still as stealthy and deadly as ever.

The show follows Sam Fisher, voiced by Liev Schreiber, as the field commander of Fourth Echelon, a secret U.S. government unit focused on counter-terrorism operations. Derek Kolstad, best known for the John Wick franchise, is the lead writer and executive producer of the series. Guillaume Dousse is directing, with Félicien Colmet-Daage as co-director.

Other members of the voice cast include Janet Varney as Anna “Grim” Grímsdóttir, the technical operations officer of Fourth Echelon, Kirby Howell-Baptiste as Zinnia McKenna, and Joel Oulette as Thunder.

The project was first announced in July 2020 when Ubisoft revealed plans to develop an animated adaptation of the popular video game franchise for Netflix. Initially, there were reports of a two-season order, but Kolstad later clarified that only the first season was officially approved and it would take several years before release.

In August 2024, Michael Ironside, who originally voiced Sam Fisher in the games, said he was too old to return for the series. Schreiber was confirmed as the new voice of Fisher the following month when Netflix released a first look at the show. Animation for the series is handled by Sun Creature Studio from Denmark and France, alongside the French studio Fost.
