Sarah Michelle Gellar and her Ready or Not 2 co-stars were rushed out of a Paris hotel after a fire broke out, sources report. The incident occurred at the five-star Palace Le Bristol while the cast was attending a press junket for the upcoming horror-comedy sequel. French firefighters responded quickly to the scene after flames erupted in the hotel’s basement kitchen.

According to AFP, around 400 people were evacuated from the building. TMZ reported that the cast, including Kathryn Newton and Elijah Wood, were among those safely escorted out. “Everyone including the cast on the promo tour is safe,” a source told the outlet. “The situation is under control.”

The fire reportedly started around 11:20 a.m. local time on Wednesday. Paris Fire Brigade confirmed that about 100 firefighters were on site to manage the blaze. Three people are believed to have sustained injuries and are receiving treatment.

The Palace Le Bristol is a historic hotel often visited by celebrities and world leaders. It gained additional fame when it was featured in Woody Allen’s 2011 film Midnight in Paris. The hotel celebrated its 100th anniversary last year, marking a century of luxury and French elegance since its opening in 1925.

During the chaos, Kathryn Newton shared a glamorous video on Instagram showing herself in a lace outfit inside what appeared to be a hotel room. She captioned it, “Press day 1,075,790 of #ReadyOrNot2 in PARIS!!!! Get tickets now! In cinemas April 8 in Europe.”

Ready or Not 2: Here I Come, a sequel to the 2019 hit, is set to release in theaters on April 8. Sarah Michelle Gellar, famous for Buffy the Vampire Slayer, continues her busy press tour alongside her co-stars.

It’s a relief that no major injuries were reported and the cast is safe. Hotel fires, especially in historic buildings, are always alarming, and this incident highlights the importance of quick emergency response. What do you think about this chaotic hotel evacuation?
