Sarah Michelle Gellar, Samara Weaving and Kathryn Newton Serve Seduction and Sinister Style While Teasing the Deadly Fun of ‘Ready or Not 2’ At Press Event
Samara Weaving stepped into the spotlight this week alongside Sarah Michelle Gellar and Kathryn Newton as the three stars promoted their upcoming horror sequel Ready or Not 2: Here I Come.
Their joint appearance during the film’s press events quickly sparked excitement among fans who are eager to see how this new chapter will unfold.
The sequel continues the story of Grace, played again by Weaving. After surviving the brutal events of the first film, her character now faces an even bigger threat. The new story moves beyond one dangerous family and introduces a wider network tied to the deadly game she escaped.

This time she will not face it alone. Newton’s character Faith, who is revealed to be Grace’s estranged sister, joins the fight as the two try to stay alive while uncovering a powerful hidden group.
Gellar enters the story as Ursula Danforth, a key figure connected to the rival side of this dark world. Her involvement has drawn attention from longtime horror fans who remember her past work in the genre. According to production updates shared during the press tour, the film aims to expand the scale of the story and introduce new enemies that go far beyond what audiences saw before.
Weaving also brought personal news into the spotlight during the promotional run. She recently confirmed she is expecting a child with her husband Jimmy Warden.
The cast will also include Elijah Wood and David Cronenberg, which signals a wider storyline that stretches beyond the setting of the original film. Directors Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett, known together as Radio Silence, are again leading the project and have said the sequel will keep the same dark humor while increasing the intensity.
Outside this film, the three leads remain active with other projects. Weaving recently appeared in Azrael and Borderline and is set to star in Over Your Dead Body. Newton continues to build her profile following Abigail and is working on Griffin in Summer. Gellar is preparing for Buffy the Vampire Slayer: New Sunnydale, where she returns to one of her most famous roles.
The movie is expected to premiere at SXSW before its release on March 20. Early reports suggest it could perform strongly at the box office.
Bringing together these three actors gives the sequel a fresh dynamic while still keeping the story connected to the original. The mix of returning and new characters could make the stakes feel bigger without losing what made the first film work. What do you think about this trio leading the next chapter?
