Scott Snyder Confirms More Villains Are Coming to ‘Absolute Batman’

It is a well-known fact that DC’s Absolute line has been a major hit. Despite some different storylines and approaches, the stories we’ve seen in this line have captured the hearts of fans and are both popular and acclaimed.

And while several heroes have, so far, gotten their “Absolute” title, alongside more upcoming ones, Batman’s “Absolute” line is arguably the most popular, as well as most daring one.

Written by Batman veteran Scott Snyder, the series has so far given us some major narrative moments, as well as some bold reinterpretations of well-known characters, especially villains. Now, Snyder is teasing more!

Several major villains have already appeared in the Absolute Batman series. And while some were received well, others were a subject of controversy. Mr. Freeze and Bane, for example, have recently been the talking point of the fandom.

But, as the series is evolving, Scott Snyder is teasing more villains from Batman’s famous Rogues Gallery. We know that a horrifying version of the Joker is coming soon, but he also commented on Mr. Freeze.

“We’re coming up on a couple of issues with Mr. Freeze, and Mr. Freeze is just, again, I was like, ‘Oh, we’ve all seen the story a lot,’ and it’s always been fun to play with that character,” he said. “You know, he’s trying to save his wife, Nora, and this, I was like, well, that doesn’t have to be the rules.”

But, while this is the short-term focus, Snyder teased more villains for the upcoming issues. “You see Mr. Freeze in the coming issues, and Bane is coming up after that. You’ll see a bunch of other villains scattered in there. I don’t want to give away too much but we have plans for everyone, from Man-Bat to Ivy, Clayface … everyone is coming,” he confirmed.
