The memoir also included accounts of predatory behavior from powerful figures in the industry that Panettiere had kept private for years. According to Variety, one of the most discussed passages describes an incident when she was 18, when a friend led her into a room and told her to get into bed with a famous, unnamed male actor who was already undressed.

In a separate account detailed by the Irish Star, Panettiere also wrote about an Oscar-winning actor and director exposing himself to her at an industry party when she was 19. She did not publicly name either man in connection with these incidents, though she discussed the yacht cabin story further during an appearance on the “On Purpose with Jay Shetty” podcast, explaining that even though she felt capable of making safe decisions at that age, she wasn’t fully aware of everything happening around her at the time.

Beyond her professional experiences, Panettiere also opened up extensively about motherhood, detailing the postpartum depression she experienced after giving birth to her daughter, Kaya, in 2014 with former partner Wladimir Klitschko.
