Serious Allegations Emerge Against MCU’s Hawkeye Jeremy Renner Involving Domestic Abuse, Explicit Photo Misconduct & ICE Blackmail
Chinese filmmaker Yi Zhou has accused actor Jeremy Renner of sexual misconduct and harassment, claiming the Avengers star sent her unsolicited explicit photos and later threatened to call immigration authorities on her.
Zhou shared screenshots of what she said were WhatsApp conversations with Renner on her Instagram account this week, along with lengthy captions explaining her story.
The two had worked together on a project called Chronicles of Disney, a documentary directed by Zhou about the history of the Walt Disney Company. They also collaborated on an animated film before developing a personal relationship.
According to Zhou, Renner first contacted her in 2025, allegedly sending several explicit images through direct messages and WhatsApp. “In June 2025, out of the blue I received 2 photos of Jeremy Renner and then a string of unwanted / unsolicited pornographic images of himself via DM and WhatsApp,” Zhou wrote in one of her posts. She also claimed that Renner had introduced himself to other women in the same way.
In response, a spokesperson for Renner told TheWrap that “the accusations being made by this individual are totally inaccurate and untrue.”
Despite that denial, Zhou continued posting what she said were screenshots of their private exchanges, including messages and photos she alleged came directly from the actor. Some online users questioned whether the images were authentic, suggesting AI might have been used, but Zhou rejected those claims.
She said the situation showed how difficult it still is for women, especially Asian filmmakers, to speak up about harassment in Hollywood. “This experience really shows the dark side of Hollywood and the smear campaign to deter women and Asian female filmmakers and women in general,” Zhou wrote. “I love Hollywood, but we need to stop the cover up for misconduct affecting other women.”
Zhou also alleged that Renner was verbally aggressive and intoxicated during one encounter, saying she hid in fear after he yelled at her for hours. In interviews with the Daily Mail, Zhou said that Renner pursued her romantically and then denied both their relationship and professional collaborations. “He used me and denied me and denied our work,” she said.
In one of the alleged exchanges shared with the Daily Mail, Zhou accused Renner of sending explicit images through multiple apps. She claimed that in response, he wrote a message saying “immigration will be notified of your” before the message cut off. Zhou suggested that he was threatening to report her to immigration authorities.
