The couple met in 2016 when Kim appeared on Woman’s Hour to discuss insomnia, and Russell was a sound engineer. They kept in touch after the show, with Russell sending Kim a direct message on X. “He direct messaged me, it was very, very modern [and] it’s just been very easy,” Kim said. Their relationship grew when Russell visited her in Vancouver, Canada.
