The posts appeared to show him sending strange and inappropriate texts to someone pretending to be Sabrina Carpenter. Because the account used his real profile image, many people believed the messages were genuine.
Reports from TMZ and USA TODAY said the messages included odd jokes and comments that quickly went viral. In one exchange, the fake account even responded by saying, “i know who you are… you’re way too famous to be sending messages like that.”
