After more than a year of waiting, fans of Silo are finally getting closer to returning to the underground world of mystery, secrets, and survival. The third season of Apple TV+’s hit dystopian drama is set to arrive on July 3, and early reviews suggest the wait may have been worth it.

The new season has already made a strong impression with critics. According to Rotten Tomatoes, Silo Season 3 currently holds a perfect 100% score based on five reviews. While the number of reviews is still small, every critic who has shared their opinion so far has given the season a positive rating.

The latest chapter continues the story based on the bestselling Silo book trilogy by Hugh Howey. The series follows thousands of people living deep underground in a massive silo, where they are told the outside world is deadly and impossible to survive.

Season 3 will continue the story of Juliette Nichols, played by Rebecca Ferguson, after the shocking events of the previous season. The official description reveals that Juliette survives her forced “cleaning” but returns with memory problems as the silo struggles after a rebellion and faces a dangerous new threat.

The season will also explore events from the past, introducing a storyline set hundreds of years earlier. Journalist Helen Drew, played by Jessica Henwick, and Congressman Daniel Keene, played by Ashley Zukerman, uncover a conspiracy that could change everything.

Critics who have seen the new episodes believe the show is taking a bold new direction. Felipe Rangel from Screen Rant gave the season an 8/10 score, saying Season 3 feels very different from the first two seasons but in a positive way. According to Rangel, the new episodes create a new era for the series.

Katie Doll from CBR gave the season a perfect 10/10 score and praised it as “everything a show of this genre was meant to be.”

Collider critic Tania Hussain also shared strong praise, giving the season a 9/10 rating and calling it “thoughtful, gripping, and beautifully made,” while saying it raises the standard for modern prestige science fiction.

One of the strongest reactions came from Joonatan Itkonen of Region Free, who gave the season a perfect 5/5 score. The critic highlighted the final episodes, saying “the final two episodes of the season are some of the most intense and brilliant TV I’ve seen all year.” Itkonen also described Silo as one of the most impressive and entertaining shows on television.

Chris Evangelista from Slashfilm gave the season a 7/10 rating but still encouraged viewers to catch up before the story reaches its conclusion, saying there has never been a better time to start watching.

Season 3 will once again feature 10 episodes, following the same format as the first two seasons. New episodes will be released weekly on Apple TV+, giving fans plenty of time to discuss the latest mysteries and theories.

With the series already considered one of Apple TV+’s biggest science fiction successes alongside shows like Severance and For All Mankind, the early reaction suggests Silo Season 3 could be its biggest chapter yet.
