The 2026 Golden Globes on Sunday, January 11, had its share of surprises, including a memorable appearance by Snoop Dogg. The legendary rapper took the stage to present the first-ever Best Podcast award, and his speech included a line that was censored during the live broadcast.
Snoop Dogg, known for hits like “Drop It Like It’s Hot,” entered to his own music playing. As he took the stage, he told the audience, “Stop the music! I need y’all to loosen up a little bit. This is the double-G’s, the double-G’s, it’s the Golden Globes, and you’re with the D-O-double-G. So, make sure you enjoy yourself, don’t be no stiff biff! Move around a little bit!”
The rapper went on to praise the new podcast category. “Best Podcast is a very important category for me, because, before podcasts, I was what y’all would listen to driving around in your cars. At that moment, Snoop Dogg’s words were bleeped on television. Entertainment Weekly, which covered the event in person, later revealed what he said: “I’m high as a m****** right now. Y’all had me here too damn long!” Despite the censored moment, Snoop continued the presentation, announcing that Amy Poehler had won for her podcast Good Hang.

The night also saw another censored line from performer Teyana Taylor. After winning the award for One Battle After Another, she exclaimed, “Oh my God, this s**** is heavy,” which was also muted for the broadcast.
Snoop Dogg’s Golden Globes appearance comes after a busy few years for the rapper. In 2024, he released his album Missionary, produced entirely by Dr. Dre. The album, seen as a spiritual sequel to Snoop’s first classic Doggystyle, features collaborations with Eminem, 50 Cent, Method Man, and Sting.
