Rachel Zegler is in the middle of one of the busiest stretches of her career. She won an Olivier Award for Best Actress in a Musical for playing Eva Perón in Jamie Lloyd’s ‘Evita,’ and she is now preparing to bring that production to Broadway.

Between rehearsals, press events and film projects, the actress has also kept her style in the spotlight. From a Met Gala look inspired by Paul Delaroche’s painting ‘The Execution of Lady Jane Grey’ to her many New York appearances this year, Zegler has become a fixture of fashion conversations.

Her latest moment is more laid-back but still turned heads. New photos of Zegler shared on October 5 show the actress posing in an edgy, evening-ready ensemble that has fans praising her effortless look.

Zegler wore an oversized black leather jacket draped over a shimmering, cropped beige top that caught the light. She paired it with a grey belted midi pencil skirt, strappy metallic heels and a small structured silver handbag. Her dark hair was worn down in loose waves.

The leather jacket is a familiar staple for the actress, who has often mixed it into her street style. This time, the sparkling top and tailored skirt gave the outfit a more elevated finish, balancing the rough texture of the jacket against softer, more polished pieces.

The photos arrived on a day when Zegler was also in the news for her stage work. She appeared alongside her ‘Evita’ co-stars Diego Rodriguez and James Olivas at Variety’s Business of Broadway event in New York, where she looked back on how she landed the role.

Recalling her audition, Zegler explained, as Variety reported, that she had called her agent from a basement on Broadway and asked him to do whatever it took to get her into the room. She added that she sang about 40 pages of material and then performed a two-show day. It is a reminder that even after her breakout in ‘West Side Story,’ she is still auditioning for roles.

The Broadway transfer is now just a few months away. Jamie Lloyd’s production begins previews at the Winter Garden Theatre on February 27, with an official opening night set for March 25. The production first drew attention at the London Palladium, where Zegler performed ‘Don’t Cry for Me, Argentina’ from a balcony facing the street while audiences inside watched on screens. With no balcony at the Winter Garden, Lloyd is reimagining the sequence for Times Square.

Before that, Zegler will head back to London for a concert residency at Soho Place, with 14 shows scheduled from January 5 through January 17. On the screen side, she leads the psychological thriller ‘NDA’ alongside Penn Badgley and Amy Ryan, which Bleecker Street acquired in July. She is also attached to ‘Last Dance’ opposite Adrien Brody, directed by Karim Aïnouz, and has joined Lin-Manuel Miranda’s musical film ‘Octet.’

Those projects mark her return to the big screen since Disney’s 2025 live-action ‘Snow White,’ a film that came with a series of controversies. Zegler now appears focused firmly on her next chapter, and if this week’s photos are any indication, she is heading into it with plenty of style.
