‘Solo Leveling’ Sequel in the Works? Creator Gives Exciting Update
The creator of Solo Leveling, Chugong, has given fans an update on the series’ future, clarifying the status of the widely discussed sequel, Solo Leveling: Ragnarok.
The sequel, written by another author under the pen name Daul, was adapted into a manhwa last year and had been widely accepted as the official continuation of the original story.
In an interview with LitRes, Russia’s largest digital and audiobook service, Chugong addressed the sequel and the ending of Solo Leveling.
An English translation of the interview was shared on X by the fan account @SoloLevelingGuy. The author explained that Ragnarok was not meant to continue the main storyline. “Ragnarok was a spin-off created for fanservice. I was curious to see how another author would write Solo Leveling. This story is part of the Solo Leveling universe, but it isn’t a direct continuation of the main plot. It’s more like one of many possible scenarios — similar to Marvel’s parallel universes,” Chugong said.

How did you decide to continue the story in the form of Solo Leveling: Ragnarok?

Ragnarok follows the story of Jinwoo’s son, Suho, whose powers were initially sealed but later resurfaced. Suho faces new threats from cosmic beings in a plot that many fans mistakenly assumed was an official sequel.
Chugong also hinted that a true sequel could still be possible. “And of course, I’m also considering the possibility of writing a sequel myself,” the author added.
While nothing has been officially confirmed, Chugong’s openness suggests that fans may see an official continuation of the story in the future, possibly in the next few months or years.
With this clarification, fans now know that while Ragnarok expands the Solo Leveling universe, the main story could still continue under Chugong’s direction. What do you think about the possibility of Chugong writing the official sequel? Share your thoughts in the comments.
