Sony is reportedly preparing to launch a new version of its PS5 Pro console soon. It has been almost a year since the PS5 Pro first hit the market, and the upgraded console has faced some issues, particularly around how developers use its PSSR technology.

Now, it looks like Sony is ready to release a refreshed model, although details about the changes remain limited.

According to Dealabs, the updated console will be labeled as model CFI-121 and is expected to arrive in Europe starting September 30th. A release date for the U.S. hasn’t been confirmed yet, but it seems likely that it will follow.

The new PS5 Pro isn’t expected to have major upgrades compared to the current version. The main improvement appears to be better energy efficiency, reflecting Sony’s recent focus on making its consoles more power-friendly.

Other features, such as the internal 2TB SSD and the console’s design, are expected to stay the same.

This update could help address some of the technical issues developers have experienced with the PS5 Pro over the past year while keeping the console familiar for players.

This seems like a smart move by Sony. A more energy-efficient console benefits both players and the environment without forcing fans to adapt to a completely new system. It will be interesting to see if Sony eventually adds more substantial improvements in future revisions.
